What foil and gold actually are
Foil, shiny holo, gold, metal and metallic are card finishes, and they run across the rarity tiers rather than sitting at the top of them. Each card can be inspected up close after a reveal, where the finish is clearly visible across the card face.
The demo ships 369 cards specifically including foil and gold finishes, so both are present well before the full 1,809-card set is available.
How to get foil and gold cards: three routes
There are three ways to put a finish in your binder.
Open packs
Packs are the main route, and the pack types are bought from SHOP. The premium end of the range is First Edition Boosters, the higher-value packs.
Rip more and widen them
PACK EXPANDER, a 5-level gadget, adds extra cards to every booster you open, which raises the number of draws without changing the pack type. Raising the Rip Rig through RIP RIG CAPACITY and TURBO RIPPER means more packs ripped per sequence, and more chances at a finish.
Buy the one you are missing
The Black Market is stocked with special cards and gear aimed at acquiring the ones you are missing. It opens through its own BLACK MARKET gadget group — UNLOCK first, then MARKET, REFRESH, GRAVITY, INSTANT and SEARCH — and the Which Gadget to Upgrade First page shows where that unlock sits in your upgrade order.
Why finishes change the price
Foil and gold cards are worth noticeably more than their plain counterparts, which is visible in the printed prices on the reveal screen. Card 031 SNOK, a gold-finish card, printed $15.28 next to a green sparkle glow while 034 FINCENT sat at $1.47 in the same spread.
The practical lever is how many cards you see, not which pack feels luckier. Which Booster Pack to Buy compares the three pack types for exactly that decision.
