How to level up fast in Rip It! Card Collector: file every card that is new to you, because XP comes from one action only — placing a new card into the binder — and every level you gain pays out a Gadget Point.
More context
Gadget Points buy the Rip Rig, the Binder Bot and the rest of the gear, and only levelling produces Gadget Points, so levelling is not a side track. It is the only route to the upgrades that eventually take the hand-filing out of the loop.

Where the XP comes from
XP comes from one action only: placing a new card into the binder. The terminal tracks it as an XP bar next to your level, showing progress such as 23/48 XP at LEVEL 3. The XP awarded is printed on the card as it slots in, with amounts of +5XP, +10XP and +11XP on ordinary cards, so the reward for any given pull is visible before you have decided where to put it.
Only genuinely new cards count, because the XP comes from placing a new card into the binder rather than from opening packs. A pack full of duplicates earns no XP at all no matter how good the pulls were.
Rarity multiplies XP, and that is where the speed comes from: the fastest leveling comes from filing your genuinely new rare pulls rather than filing commons. The two decisions are separate — a new common still levels you but pays far less XP than a new rare, while a duplicate pays nothing at all. Which cards fall into which rarity tier is covered in What Are the Rarest Cards.
How to level up fast: file new cards, bin the repeats
Rip a pack
By hand early on, or with the Rip Rig later.
Read the reveal screen
Each card shows its number, its name, an element icon, a set symbol, a rarity marker, its printed price and the XP it will pay.
File every card that is not in your binder yet
Rare pulls pay the most XP.
Send every repeat to the Card Disposal Unit
That is cash instead of XP.
Watch the XP bar and your level
Check them on the desk terminal after each batch.
There are no timers in the game, so XP accrues purely from cards filed rather than from time played. Faster leveling comes from filing more new cards, not from playing longer.
How to get Gadget Points
Gadget Points are earned by levelling up and cannot be bought with money. The desk terminal tracks them as GP next to your level on the GADGETS screen, and there is no way to buy them with cash.
The chain is: filing a new card into the binder grants XP, rarer cards are worth substantially more XP than common ones, and each level-up pays out a Gadget Point. That split is the core tension of the early game — every card you sell for cash is a card that did not advance your level, and every card you file is progress toward the Gadget Points that pay for the automation which eventually removes the hand-filing step.
Spending those points is the next decision, and Which Gadget to Upgrade First ranks the whole GADGETS screen for it.
FAQ
How do you level up in Rip It! Card Collector?
By filing a card that is new to you. XP comes from that one action only, and the amount is printed on the card as it slots in, such as +5XP, +10XP or +11XP. Rare cards pay substantially more than common ones, and duplicates pay nothing at all because they are never filed. Each level-up pays out a Gadget Point.
Should you sell a duplicate or file it in Rip It! Card Collector?
A card already in your binder can only be sold, because filing only awards XP for a card that is new to you. That makes the choice about the card you pulled, not the copy of it: a genuinely new rare is worth filing for the XP it pays, and anything already filed is worth nothing as XP, so it goes to the Card Disposal Unit for cash.
